A good-natured and affable man, widower Reginald Herring has now become somewhat bitter after the death of his beloved wife, Mabel. Herring reluctantly sells his business and home and moves to Florida, or, as he calls it, “God’s waiting room,” to live out his final years alone. What Herring finds instead is a world of new possibilities when single women his age discover this new, available man. Second Summer is about the rebirth of an older man who finds the long dormant teenager in himself still exists. After all, “its not how old you are, it’s how you are old.”
The Token Store - beneficiary from Second Summer show
San Juan Cosala's The Token Store gives "a hand up, not a hand out" by providing unemployed or underemployed individuals with job training and job opportunities. While in the training program, such individuals are compensated with tokens that are redeemable for clothing, appliances, household goods and groceries at The Token Store.
Peter Luciano, President of Lakeside Little Theatre presented a portion of the Second Summer's proceeds to Nancy Brown of The Token Store.
Errata: In the program for Second Summer, the beneficiary for the donation from this show was mistakenly identified as Operation Feed, a sister charitable organization of The Token Store.
